About this product
Bambu Lab PETG-CF 1.75 mm Filament
PETG-CF takes everything that makes PETG a dependable workhorse — toughness, chemical resistance, low shrinkage — and adds chopped carbon fibre for extra stiffness and a clean, low-sheen matte finish that hides layer lines beautifully. The result is a filament that sits comfortably between easy-going PLA and demanding engineering materials: it prints without an enclosure on most machines, yet holds its shape under load, in the sun, and around moisture, grease and oils.
It's a strong pick for makers and small businesses printing functional parts — drone frames and RC components, jigs and fixtures, tool holders, brackets and mounts, outdoor housings, and replacement parts that need to survive a workshop or a Queensland summer. Schools and hobbyists with a hardened nozzle will find it prints far more predictably than most carbon-filled materials, with minimal warping and no odour issues.
Key Features
Carbon fibre reinforced High impact strength Low warp & low shrinkage Matte textured finish Moisture, oil & UV resistant ±0.03 mm tolerance AMS & RFID compatible No enclosure required
Bambu Lab's spools carry an RFID tag, so an X1, P1 or A1 series printer with an AMS recognises the material and colour automatically and loads the correct profile. The filament works just as well in any standard FDM printer that can reach 270 °C and is fitted with a hardened steel nozzle.
Print Settings
- Nozzle temperature: 240–270 °C
- Bed temperature: 65–75 °C (a thin layer of glue stick helps adhesion and protects textured plates)
- Chamber temperature: 35–50 °C if your printer is enclosed — not required
- Print speed: up to 200 mm/s; slowing to 80–120 mm/s improves surface quality on detailed parts
- Cooling fan: 0–60% — keep it low to maximise layer adhesion and part strength
- Nozzle: hardened steel, 0.4 / 0.6 / 0.8 mm. Carbon fibre is abrasive and will chew through brass. 0.2 mm nozzles are not compatible.

Practical Tips
Keep it dry. PETG-CF absorbs moisture readily, and wet carbon-filled filament is the usual culprit behind stringing, popping sounds during extrusion and brittle, under-strength parts. Store spools sealed with desiccant below 20% RH, and if a roll has been open on the bench for a while, dry it at 65 °C for 8 hours before an important print. Printing straight from a dry box is the easiest habit to build.
Mind the nozzle and the first layer. Carbon fibre is abrasive, so fit a hardened steel nozzle before you load it — brass will wear visibly within a couple of kilograms. PETG also bonds strongly to smooth PEI and glass, so use a textured plate or a light coat of glue stick as a release layer to avoid tearing chunks out of the build surface. Go slightly wider on your first layer and keep cooling low for best results on tall functional parts.
