Bambu Lab PLA Galaxy is a glossy PLA loaded with glass microspheres that catch the light like a night sky — deep, shimmering colour straight off the printer, with no post-processing.
PLA Galaxy is Bambu Lab’s take on a starfield finish. Fine glass microspheres are blended through a standard PLA base, acting as tiny internal reflectors that scatter light across the print surface. The result is a glossy, softly glittering look that reads as depth rather than glitter-dust — and because the base polymer is ordinary PLA, it prints as easily as the PLA Basic you already know. That makes it a sensible pick for makers who want a display-grade finish without moving to a fussy engineering material: tabletop miniatures and terrain, cosplay props and jewellery, planters and vases, awards and gifts, product mock-ups, and classroom projects where the finished part needs to impress.
Glass microsphere sparkle Glossy finish, no polishing Prints like standard PLA Up to 250 mm/s RFID auto-settings AMS & AMS lite ready 1.75 mm ± 0.03 mm Reusable 1 kg spool
The spool carries an RFID tag, so a Bambu Lab printer with AMS or AMS lite recognises the material and loads the correct profile automatically. On non-Bambu machines — Prusa, Creality, Elegoo, Anycubic, Voron and most other 1.75 mm FDM printers — simply start from your generic PLA profile and apply the temperatures below.

Choose your colour from the dropdown above. Every colour shares the same specifications and print settings, so you can swap between them mid-project without re-tuning your profile.
Let the light do the work. The sparkle comes from microspheres sitting just under the surface, so it shows best on curved geometry, gentle chamfers and vase-mode prints. Flat top surfaces printed with a wide, fast infill pattern can look duller — try ironing off and a slower outer wall speed if the finish looks patchy between layers.
Mind the nozzle, and mind the moisture. Glass microspheres are mildly abrasive, so fit a hardened steel nozzle before a long print — a brass nozzle will wear and start under-extruding. Like all PLA, Galaxy absorbs moisture from the air: reseal it in the bag with desiccant between sessions, and if you hear popping or see stringing after a humid Australian summer, run it at 55 °C for 8 hours in a dryer before printing.
