Bambu Lab PLA Glow is a phosphorescent 1.75mm PLA that prints as easily as standard PLA by day and glows in the dark after a few minutes under any light source.
PLA Glow is Bambu Lab’s glow-in-the-dark PLA. It is a standard PLA base loaded with phosphorescent (luminous) powder, so it prints with the same low temperatures and forgiving behaviour you already expect from PLA — then charges under sunlight, room lighting or a UV torch and glows once the lights go out. It’s a favourite for Halloween props and cosplay, D&D miniatures and dice trays, night-visible light switch plates and door handles, glowing signage and light diffusers, classroom STEM projects, and any print that needs to be findable in the dark.
Because the glow effect comes from a real mineral additive rather than a dye, the filament is noticeably harder and more abrasive than plain PLA. Plan for a hardened steel nozzle before you start a spool — that single change is the difference between a great experience and a worn-out hot end.
Glows in the dark Low-temp PLA printing ±0.03mm tolerance RFID spool — auto AMS settings Up to 250mm/s 5 glow colours Reusable 1kg spool
Printer compatibility: works on any 1.75mm FDM printer that can run PLA — Bambu Lab X1, P1 and P2 series, A1, plus Prusa, Creality, Elegoo, Anycubic and similar machines. On Bambu Lab printers the RFID tag loads the correct profile automatically. Use a 0.4mm, 0.6mm or 0.8mm hardened nozzle; 0.2mm nozzles are not recommended as the glow powder can clog them. PLA Glow runs in the standard AMS, but Bambu Lab advises against feeding it through the AMS Lite — the stiff, rough filament creates enough feed resistance to cause failures, so load it direct from an external spool holder on A1 and A1 mini.

All five share the same specs and print settings — choose your colour from the dropdown above. Note that each colour describes the daylight appearance of the spool; the glow itself is a soft luminous tone rather than a bright saturated colour, and Green is the brightest and longest-lasting of the range.
Fit the hardened nozzle first. The phosphorescent powder is genuinely abrasive and can visibly wear a brass or standard stainless nozzle within a single kilogram — a hardened steel nozzle is cheap insurance and keeps your extrusion width consistent right to the end of the spool.
Design for a brighter glow. Glow intensity depends on how much luminous material light can reach, so thicker walls (3–4 perimeters) and higher infill glow far more strongly than thin-walled prints. Charge the finished part under bright daylight or a UV torch for a couple of minutes before showing it off. And like all PLA, keep the spool sealed with desiccant between prints — damp filament causes stringing and a rough surface that dulls the effect.
