About this product
Bambu Lab Air Filter — H2 Series (FAC116)
Your H2D, H2D Pro, H2S or H2C pulls chamber air through this filter every time it runs warm. The activated carbon inside it is what keeps the sharp styrene smell of an ABS or ASA print from filling the room — and like every carbon filter, it saturates. Once it does, the printer keeps circulating air but stops actually cleaning it. This is the genuine Bambu Lab replacement cartridge, the same part fitted at the factory, so fitment, airflow and media density are exactly what the printer was designed around.
The filter sits on the inner side of the right inner liner, closer to the print chamber, and carries a removable activated carbon filter cover on the front of the housing. Bambu rates the media at 1440 hours of cumulative printing or 60 days — whichever lands first — and the H2 series does not currently nag you about it, so it is a maintenance item you track yourself.

What it actually does
- Removes VOCs from chamber air. Bambu's own description is blunt about the job: the filter is there to clean the air inside the chamber and strip volatile organic compounds before they escape.
- Cuts the smell of high-temp materials. ABS, ASA, PC, PA/nylon and their fibre-filled variants are the ones you notice. PLA and PETG are far less pungent, but the filter still catches what they give off.
- Keeps the enclosure doing its job. A sealed, heated chamber is only an advantage if the air leaving it has been treated — a spent carbon cartridge quietly undoes that.
- Passive and silent. It is a filter cartridge, not a fan unit. The printer's existing circulation does the work, so there is nothing to wire in and no plug pack.
Who it's for
- Anyone printing ABS/ASA indoors — a home office, bedroom studio or shared living space with no dedicated extraction.
- Schools and training labs, where the printer sits in an occupied classroom and filtration is part of the risk assessment.
- Small businesses running the printer hard. At 1440 print hours, a machine doing production-style runs will reach the replacement point in a couple of busy months.
- H2 owners doing scheduled maintenance who want the genuine part rather than a generic drop-in of unknown media density.
What's in the box
- Bambu Lab Air Filter (FAC116) × 1 — complete with its removable activated carbon filter cover
That is the full contents: no tools, screws or cables are included, and none are needed for the swap. Bambu publishes the step-by-step procedure in the H2 series maintenance wiki under Replace H2 Series Air filter cover / Air filter.
Make sure it's the part you want
Bambu sells several filters that sound alike. This one is the chamber air filter assembly for the H2 series. It is not:
- the Activated Carbon Air Filter Cover — H2 Series, which is just the replaceable carbon cover that clips to this housing (a cheaper top-up if your housing is still good);
- the Air Pump Filter, a separate small filter in the printer's air pump circuit;
- the Smoke Purifier Air Filter, which belongs to the external laser smoke purifier unit;
- the Activated Carbon Air Filter — X1/P1 Series, which does not fit an H2 chamber.
When to replace it
- You've hit roughly 1440 cumulative print hours or 60 days on the current filter.
- The odour of an ABS or ASA print is noticeably stronger than it used to be.
- Heavy engineering-material use — carbon saturates much faster on ABS/ASA than on PLA, so a shop printing styrenics daily should expect the short end of that range.
- The media looks visibly loaded or damaged when you open the chamber.
