Bambu Lab AMS HT
$229inc. GST
The Bambu Lab AMS HT is a single-spool material system that dries filament at up to 85 °C while it feeds — so engineering materials like PA, PC and CF blends go into the hotend dry, print after print. Active drying to 85 °C — heats and feeds at the same time, no separate dryer box Rotisserie drying — the spool turns 30° every 5 minutes so the whole roll dries evenly Built for high-temp filament — PA6-CF, PAHT-CF, PET-CF, PC, ASA and other engineering materials Ceramic filament inlet (1200 Vickers) — stands up to abrasive carbon-fibre blends RFID auto-setup + onboard temperature and humidity sensor with digital display Chain up to 8 AMS HT units (up to 24 spools when combined with AMS 2 Pro) 🇦🇺 Ships from Australia

About this product
Bambu Lab AMS HT — Dry, Feed and Print High-Temp Filament
Standard AMS units are built for four spools of everyday PLA and PETG. The AMS HT takes the opposite approach: one spool, in a sealed heated chamber, held at up to 85 °C the entire time it feeds your printer. That matters because nylons, polycarbonate and carbon-fibre blends pull moisture out of the air in hours, not days — and wet engineering filament prints with stringing, popping, weak layer bonding and a rough surface no profile tweak will fix.
If you have been drying a roll overnight only to watch it go off during a 14-hour print, this is the fix. Load the spool, let the AMS HT hold it dry, and print straight from the heated chamber.
Key features
85 °C active drying Rotating spool Ceramic inlet RFID auto-config Humidity sensor Chain up to 8 units
- Dries while it prints. The heated, sealed chamber runs to 85 °C — high enough for nylon and PC-class materials, not just the 55–65 °C a typical PLA dryer manages.
- Even drying, not just surface drying. The spool rotates 30° every five minutes so heat and airflow reach the inner windings instead of only the outer layer.
- Abrasion-resistant path. Ceramic filament inlets rated around 1200 on the Vickers scale hold their shape against carbon-fibre and glass-filled filament that chews through plastic guides.
- Faster feeding. Brushless servo drive feeds material roughly 60% faster than the original AMS, which cuts the dead time on tool and colour changes.
- Reads your filament. RFID on official Bambu Lab spools sets the correct drying temperature and time automatically — no menu diving. Third-party spools can be set manually.
- Live monitoring. Onboard sensor shows chamber temperature, humidity and remaining dry time on the unit's display and in Bambu Handy / Bambu Studio.
- Scales with you. Run one alongside your existing AMS for a dedicated engineering-material slot, or chain up to eight AMS HT units — up to 24 spools total when mixed with AMS 2 Pro.
Who it's for
- Engineering and functional parts — jigs, fixtures, brackets, drone frames and under-bonnet parts in PA-CF or PC.
- Small manufacturers and workshops printing the same technical material day after day and needing repeatable results.
- Anyone in a humid Australian climate — Brisbane, Darwin, coastal NSW and QLD summers are brutal on nylon and PVA.
- Multi-material users who want an always-dry spool dedicated to soluble support (PVA/BVOH) or TPU without giving up AMS slots.
Compatible materials
PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, PC, PA (nylon), PET, PP, POM, HIPS, TPU, PVA and BVOH supports, plus filled grades including PLA-CF, PETG-CF, PET-CF, PA6-CF and PAHT-CF.
Straight answer on PPA-CF and PPS-CF: these ultra-high-temp grades can be run through the AMS HT, but Bambu Lab notes they need drying above 85 °C to fully dry — so treat the AMS HT as a moisture-holding chamber for them, not a full dryer. For those materials, pre-dry in a high-temperature oven first.
Printer compatibility
Works with the H2D, H2C, H2S, X2D, P2S, X1 series (X1C / X1E), P1 series (P1P / P1S), A1 series and A2 series. Select your printer series at checkout or let us know in the order notes — the cable and coupler kit needed differs between models.
Important for X1 / P1 owners: connecting an AMS HT to an X1 or P1 series printer also requires a Filament Buffer (SA003), a PTFE Tube Coupler (FAZ006) and a 4-pin cable (CAB002-N). Ask us and we'll make sure the right parts ship with your unit.
Because the drying element draws real power, the AMS HT cannot be powered from the printer — it plugs into its own wall outlet. It runs on 100–240 V, so it's happy on Australian 230/240 V mains.
