About this product
Bambu Lab Cooling Fan for Hotend — H2S
It's one of the smallest fans in your H2S, and one of the most important. The hotend cooling fan sits between the TH board and the extruder, pulling heat away from the hotend heatsink so the melt zone stays exactly where it should be. When it slows down, gets noisy, or stops altogether, heat creeps up the filament path, softens filament before it reaches the nozzle, and you start chasing extrusion drop-off and clogs that look like a dozen other problems. Replacing the fan is usually the fix — and it's a genuine Bambu Lab part, so the connector, mounting and airflow direction are all exactly as the printer expects.
This is the H2S version of the fan (Bambu part FAH047, current revision FAH047-V1). The H2D and H2C use a physically different fan assembly (FAF014) with different screws — make sure you're buying for the right machine.

What it does
- Stops heat creep. Bambu describe the part plainly: the cooling fan for hotend, situated between the TH board and extruder, cools the hotend to avoid premature filament softening and clogs.
- Protects your melt zone. A healthy heatsink keeps the transition from solid to molten filament sharp, which is what keeps extrusion consistent at H2S speeds.
- Direct OEM fit. Correct connector, correct mounting points, correct airflow direction — no shimming, no adapter cables, no guessing at pinouts.
Who it's for
Anyone running an H2S or H2S Laser: makers keeping a single machine healthy, small businesses and print farms holding a spare on the shelf so a dead fan costs an evening instead of a week, and schools and workshops where printers run long hours and consumable mechanical parts are expected to wear. Replace it if the fan is audibly noisy or rattling, if it has stopped spinning, if you're seeing clogs and heat-creep symptoms you can't explain, or if Bambu Lab support recommends it.
What's in the box
- 1 × Cooling Fan for Hotend (H2S)
- 2 × BT2-4 mounting screws
Tools are not included. You'll need your own H1.5 Allen key — it's not in the box, though it is part of the standard Bambu Lab hex set most H2S owners already have.
Fitting it — the three things people get wrong
- Power off and unplug first. Bambu Lab's maintenance guide calls this out explicitly — working on a live machine risks a short circuit and damage to the electronics. Budget about 25 minutes for the job.
- Check the orientation if your part is marked FAH047. Older FAH047 units need the fan orientation verified before installation (per the appendix in Bambu's guide); the current FAH047-V1 revision can be installed directly. Either way, the labelled side should face the air outlet so airflow is directed into the hotend heatsink.
- Don't yank it, and re-apply the tape. Pulling the fan hard can damage the connector, and the acetate tape must go back on during reassembly.
