About this product
Bambu Lab Part Cooling Fan — H2S
Part cooling is what separates a clean print from a droopy one. On the H2S, this fan sits at the base of the toolhead and, in Bambu Lab's own words, “works in tandem with the Air Duct to swiftly cool extruded filament” — freezing each layer the moment it leaves the nozzle so overhangs hold their shape, bridges stay flat and small features keep their edges. When that airflow drops off, print quality goes with it.
This is the genuine Bambu Lab replacement fan (OEM part FAF020) for the H2S and H2S Laser. It's the part to reach for when a failed print has clogged or crashed into the fan, when the fan starts rattling or whining during a job, or when Bambu Lab support has told you to replace it.

Why you'd replace it
- Damage after a print failure. Bambu Lab lists “the hotend clogging caused by printing failure that damaged the part cooling fan” as the leading reason for replacement — a blob of filament or a crashed print can take the fan out.
- Noise. A fan that “makes noise during operation” has usually lost a bearing and is on its way out.
- Quality creep. Drooping overhangs, sagging bridges and rounded-off small details on prints that used to come out clean.
- Support says so. If Bambu Lab technical support has diagnosed the fan, this is the part they mean.
Fitting it yourself
Bambu Lab rates this as roughly a 20-minute job and it needs a single tool — an H1.5 Allen key, which is not included in the box (note it's H1.5 here, not the H2.0 used on the H2D/H2C fan). Power the printer off and disconnect it before you start — working on toolhead wiring with the machine live risks a short circuit.
On the H2S the fan is held by three screws (BT2×8) — one of which also secures the toolhead rear housing — plus two side screws (BT2×5) on the left and right. The step most people get wrong is the last one, so here it is verbatim from the wiki: “Remove the 3 screws of the part cooling fan, of which the 1 screw on the back is locked with the toolhead rear housing. After loosening the screws, do not pull the fan, just let the fan droop naturally to avoid damaging the connector.”
Full illustrated steps live on the Bambu Lab wiki at wiki.bambulab.com/en/h2s/maintenance/replace-part-cooling-fan. If you'd rather not open the toolhead yourself, any competent local repairer can do it — but it's well within reach of a confident hobbyist.
What's in the box
- 1 × Part Cooling Fan (H2S)
- 1 × BT2-6.5 screw
- 2 × BT2-5 screws
Fan assembly only. The toolhead shell, air duct and other surrounding toolhead parts aren't included, and no H1.5 Allen key is supplied. The fan draws power and control through the toolhead connector inside the printer — there's no external power brick or AU mains plug involved.
Who it's for
H2S and H2S Laser owners keeping a machine in service — makers who've had a print failure damage the toolhead, small businesses and print farms that stock critical spares so a dead fan doesn't cost them a week, and schools and workshops where a noisy or failed fan needs a same-day fix. If you run an H2S commercially, a spare part cooling fan on the shelf is cheap insurance.
Compatibility
Fits: Bambu Lab H2S and H2S Laser.
Does not fit: H2D, H2D Pro, H2C or the Laser editions of those — they use the H2D/H2C part cooling fan, which is a physically different part with different screws. The H2S also uses several other fans (auxiliary part cooling fan, hotend cooling fan, MC board fan) — these are separate SKUs and not interchangeable with this one, so check which fan your printer is reporting before ordering.
