About this product
Bambu Lab Silicone Sock for Hotend — A1 Series
The silicone sock is the cheapest insurance your A1 hotend will ever get. It wraps the heater block in heat-resistant silicone so the part-cooling fan can't steal heat from the nozzle, and so stray molten filament lands on silicone instead of welding itself to the heater. Pull a crusty sock off, slide a fresh one on, and your first layers stop drifting.
This is the genuine Bambu Lab part (FAH006), supplied as a three-pack — enough to see most A1 owners through a year of printing. Socks are consumables: they tear, they char, and they eventually sag off the block. Keeping spares in the drawer means a two-minute fix instead of a week of waiting.
Genuine Bambu Lab FAH006 3 socks per pack Rated to 300°C A1 & A1 mini No tools required
Why it matters
- Steadier nozzle temperature. The A1's part-cooling fan blasts air right past the heater block. The sock insulates it, so the heater isn't fighting the fan and your temperature graph stops sawtoothing mid-print.
- No more filament boogers. Plastic that oozes during purges and tool changes won't stick to silicone the way it sticks to bare metal — so you don't end up chipping a carbonised lump off the heater with a brass brush.
- Protects the assembly underneath. Replacing a sock is quick and cheap; replacing a baked-on hotend heating assembly is neither.
- High-temp capable. Silicone rubber rated to 300°C, which covers the full A1 range including ABS, ASA and PETG-CF work.
- Tear resistant. Thick-walled moulding survives repeated removal and refitting during nozzle swaps.
What's in the box
- 3 × Bambu Lab hotend silicone socks (A1 Series, part FAH006)
No tools are included because none are needed — this part fits by hand.
Fitting it
- Let the hotend cool to 50°C or below and power the printer off. Silicone is heat resistant; your fingers aren't.
- Pop the hotend front cover off (it releases from the bottom front corner).
- Slide the old sock off the heater block and fit the new one squarely over it, with the cut-out clearing the wiring.
- Clip the front cover back on and check the sock sits flush with no loose edges before your next print.
Replace the sock whenever it's torn, charred, loose, or caked with plastic — or any time you notice temperature wobble or filament sticking to the hotend.

Who it's for
Every A1 and A1 mini owner, really — but especially anyone printing abrasive or high-temp filaments, running back-to-back jobs, or swapping nozzles often. Schools and makerspaces running a bank of A1s should keep a pack per machine on the shelf; small businesses printing to deadline will appreciate not losing a day to a torn sock. Note that this is the A1-series part: the P1, X1 and H2 families use different socks.
