Bambu Lab Support For PLA
$53.99inc. GST
Bambu Lab Support for PLA is a purpose-built breakaway support material that bonds weakly to PLA and PETG, so overhangs snap off clean by hand — no scars, no sanding, no post-processing. Tool-free breakaway release — engineered low-polarity blend won't fuse to PLA or PETG interfaces Print settings: nozzle 190–220 °C, bed 35–60 °C — same envelope as the PLA it supports, so no chamber or profile juggling 1.75 mm diameter, 500 g spool — a little goes a long way when used as interface-only support 2 colours available: Nature and Black RFID-tagged — AMS and AMS lite read the profile automatically on every Bambu Lab printer 🇦🇺 Ships from Australia — GST-inclusive pricing, fast local dispatch

About this product
Bambu Lab Support for PLA — Supports That Peel Off Clean
Support material is the one part of a print you throw away, so it should come off without a fight. Bambu Lab Support for PLA (also sold as Support for PLA/PETG) is a specially formulated breakaway filament that deliberately doesn't bond well to PLA or PETG. The polarity difference between the support layer and your model means the interface stays weak — you snap the support away by hand or with pliers and the surface underneath is left smooth and unmarked.
It's the right pick for anyone printing steep overhangs, deep undercuts, articulated joints, miniatures, cosplay props, functional brackets or engineering prototypes where the underside actually matters. Because it prints in the same temperature window as PLA, it slots straight into a multi-material workflow on an AMS or AMS lite without any chamber or profile gymnastics — and it works just as well fed manually on a single-extruder machine for a dedicated support-interface swap.
Key Features
Tool-free breakaway removal Works with PLA and PETG RFID auto-recognition AMS & AMS lite compatible PLA-range temperatures No scarring on model surfaces Interface-only use stretches a spool 2 colours
- Designed to fail — on purpose. The blend is tuned so the bond between support and model is just strong enough to hold during printing and weak enough to break by hand afterwards.
- One spool covers two materials. No need to stock separate PLA and PETG support filaments — the same roll handles both.
- Bambu Lab printer compatibility. Suits X1 series, P1 series, P2S, A1 and A1 mini, all AMS units, all standard build plates and all nozzle sizes. Also prints on most third-party FDM machines that run 1.75 mm PLA.
- Colour choice for visibility. Nature gives you an obvious contrast against coloured models; Black hides any trace residue on dark prints.
Recommended Print Settings
- Nozzle temperature: 190–220 °C
- Bed temperature: 35–60 °C (use glue stick at the higher end)
- Print speed: [VERIFY] — match your PLA profile; the Bambu Studio preset handles this automatically
- Cooling: [VERIFY] — PLA-style part cooling is the safe default
- Drying (if it has absorbed moisture): 75 °C for 8 hours in a blast drying oven
- Slicer setup: in Bambu Studio, set this filament as the Support/Raft Interface material and print the support body in ordinary PLA — you only need the specialty material on the contact layers.
- Best-practice values: 0 mm top interface spacing and 0 mm Z-distance give the cleanest underside finish.

Practical Tips
Use it as an interface, not as the whole support. The most common mistake is slicing the entire support structure in this material — expensive and unnecessary. Set it as the Support/Raft Interface only and print the bulk of the support in cheap PLA. A 500 g spool then lasts an extraordinarily long time, and you still get the same clean release.
Keep it dry, and don't over-tune the gap. Like PLA, this material picks up moisture from the air — store it sealed with desiccant below 20% RH, and if you start seeing stringing or popping, dry it before blaming your settings. If supports are clinging too hard, check that you haven't increased the Z-distance: with this filament the intended setup is 0 mm spacing and 0 mm Z-distance, because the chemistry does the separating, not an air gap.
