Bambu Lab TPU Feed Assist Module
$68.79inc. GST
An active motorised feeder that pushes flexible filament through the path for you — so TPU stops jamming, slipping and under-extruding on long prints. Powered assist feeding — senses filament resistance and adds push force on demand, stabilising extrusion through compression and stretch Frees up your feed path — run TPU from a side-mounted dry box, AMS HT or filament dryer instead of balancing a spool on top of the printer Fits H2 Series, X1 Series, P1 Series, P2S and X2D (H2D / H2D Pro / H2S / H2C, X1C / X1E, P1P / P1S) — not A1 or A1 mini Rated for TPU 85A and harder, including TPU 95A HF — softer 60A–82A flexibles are not supported Needs a printed housing + frame (free official files on MakerWorld) and an external spool source — AMS auto load/unload is not supported Powers from the printer via the included 4-pin to 6-pin adapter — no separate power brick or AU plug required 🇦🇺 Ships from Australia

About this product
Bambu Lab TPU Feed Assist Module
Flexible filament fails for one boring reason: friction. TPU is soft enough that any drag in the path — a tight PTFE bend, a stiff spool, a long run from a dryer — gets absorbed as filament squish instead of being pushed into the hotend. You get under-extrusion, then a bird's nest, then a jam, usually four hours into an eight-hour print.
The TPU Feed Assist Module is Bambu Lab's fix. It's a small powered extruder unit that sits upstream in the filament path, senses resistance and adds feeding force exactly when the printer needs it. The printer's own extruder stops fighting the path, and the path stops mattering — which means you can finally keep your TPU where it belongs: in a side-mounted dry box, an AMS HT, or a dryer with spool rotation, instead of perched on top of the machine.
It's a reliability upgrade, not a magic quality upgrade. Reviewers running back-to-back eight-hour TPU jobs report stable feeding and far fewer jams, but the same surface finish as a well-tuned unassisted print. If you print flexibles occasionally and it works fine, you don't need this. If you print TPU regularly — gaskets, phone cases, drone bumpers, vibration mounts, shoe soles, RC tyres — or you've already lost prints to feed failures, this is the part that makes it repeatable.

What it actually does for you
- Kills feed-path friction. A consistent assisted push means the printer's extruder isn't dragging filament through metres of tube — the single biggest cause of TPU under-extrusion.
- Makes long TPU jobs survivable. Independent testing showed stable feeding across consecutive eight-hour prints and a clear drop in jam frequency.
- Puts your spool where you want it. Side-mounted dry box, AMS HT, or a rotating-spool dryer — keep hygroscopic TPU dry without paying for it in drag.
- Helps beyond TPU. Users also report it rescuing brittle filaments that snap in the path, and heavy 3 kg spools that cause under-extrusion from sheer rotational inertia.
- Installs into the machine you already own. Model-specific instructions for H2 Series, P2S and P1/X1 are published on the Bambu Lab wiki; the module powers off the AMS 6-pin port via the included adapter, a buffer spare slot, or (on a P2S with no buffer) a 4-pin socket on the mainboard.
Read this before you order
We'd rather you buy the right thing than return the wrong one, so here are the three things that catch people out:
- The housing and frame are NOT in the box. You print them yourself — Bambu publishes the official TPU Feed Assist Module Housing and Frame files free on MakerWorld, and the community has printer-specific brackets for the P2S and H2 as well. What you're buying is the extruder mechanism, control board, cables and hardware.
- You need an external filament source. The module must be fed from an external spool holder, AMS HT or a dryer with spool rotation. AMS automatic load/unload is not supported through this module.
- 85A is the floor. Bambu specifies TPU below 85A shouldn't be used with it; testers who tried 60A got a nozzle jam. TPU 95A HF, 95A and 90A are the comfortable zone. It also won't fix untuned temperature, speed or retraction settings — tune those as normal.
Not compatible with the A1 or A1 mini.
