About this product
Bambu Lab Cooling Fan for Hotend — H2D / H2C
If your H2D or H2C has started under-extruding partway into long prints, or you can hear a rattle or whine from the toolhead that wasn't there a month ago, the hotend cooling fan is the first thing to check. Sitting between the TH board and the extruder, this fan does one job and does it constantly: it pulls heat away from the hotend heatsink. Bambu Lab describes it simply — the fan "cools the hotend to avoid premature filament softening and clogs." When it slows down or stops, heat creeps up the filament path, the filament goes soft above the melt zone, and you get jams that look like a nozzle problem but aren't.
This is the genuine Bambu Lab replacement part (OEM part FAF014) for the H2D and H2C toolhead, supplied with the screws you need to fit it. It's a sensible spare to keep on the shelf if you run your printer hard, print a lot of high-temp materials, or rely on it for paid work or classroom time.

Why it matters
- Prevents heat creep and clogs. A healthy heatsink fan keeps the melt zone where it belongs. A failing one is one of the most common causes of mid-print jams and sudden under-extrusion.
- Quiets a noisy toolhead. Worn fan bearings are usually the rattle or high-pitched whine people chase around the gantry for weeks.
- Protects the parts around it. Running a dual-nozzle H2D or H2C hot with poor hotend cooling puts avoidable stress on the extruder and hotend assembly.
- Cheap insurance for busy printers. Fans are consumables. Keeping a spare on hand turns a multi-day downtime into a half-hour job.
Who it's for
H2D and H2C owners doing their own maintenance — makers diagnosing clogging or extrusion faults, small businesses and print farms holding spares so a machine never sits idle, and schools and makerspaces where a printer gets used all day by a lot of different hands. The job is beginner-friendly if you're comfortable following a wiki guide and using an Allen key; if you'd rather not open the toolhead yourself, any competent local repairer can fit it.
What's in the box
- 1 × Cooling Fan for Hotend (H2D / H2C)
- 2 × M2.5-8 screws
- 2 × BT2.6-8 screws
Not included: the hotend cooling fan air duct and the fan bracket are separate spare parts, and the H1.5 Allen key needed for the swap isn't supplied — it's the same hex key included in your printer's tool kit.
Compatibility
Bambu Lab H2D, H2D Pro, H2D Laser and H2C. Bambu Lab sells this fan in two versions on the one listing — make sure you're buying this H2D / H2C version. The H2S and H2S Laser use a different version that ships with 2 × BT2-4 screws instead, so the two aren't interchangeable. This part is also unrelated to the H2 Series part cooling fan, auxiliary part cooling fan and the Toolhead Enhanced Cooling Fan, which are all separate items.
Fitting it
Bambu Lab's guide — Replace H2D/H2C Cooling Fan for Hotend and Bracket — puts the job at around 25 minutes with an H1.5 Allen key. Two things from the official instructions are worth repeating: power the printer off and unplug it from the wall before you start, and don't tug the fan free, or you risk damaging the connector. On reassembly, the side with the label faces the air outlet so airflow is directed into the hotend heatsink — a fan fitted backwards will seem to run fine and still let the hotend clog.
