About this product
Bambu Lab Engineering Plate — H2C (330 × 320 mm)
When you move past PLA and start printing the materials the H2C was built for — ABS, ASA, polycarbonate, carbon-filled nylon — the build surface becomes the weak link. The Engineering Plate is Bambu Lab's answer: a 0.5 mm manganese spring steel sheet finished in a polyester powder coating that is rated to a 120 °C surface temperature and shrugs off the heat, scratching and repeated thermal cycling that chews through softer surfaces. This listing is the H2C-specific plate (FAP039), with a 330 × 320 mm usable print area — the correct size for the H2C, not the H2D/H2S sheet.
It is a deliberately different surface from Textured PEI or Cool Plate SuperTack. The Engineering Plate does not grip on its own — you apply glue before every print, for every filament. That sounds like a chore; in practice it is the feature. You control exactly how much adhesion you get, a warp-prone ABS part stays pinned through a long hot job, and when the plate cools the part lifts away without a fight and without tearing a coating off with it.
H2C 330 × 320 mm 120 °C rated 0.5 mm spring steel ABS · ASA · PC · PA-CF Glue required Part no. FAP039
What it does well
- High-temperature work. A 120 °C surface rating covers the 90–110 °C beds that ABS, ASA, PC and nylon need inside the H2C's heated chamber.
- Flat, warp-resistant first layers. Glue plus a stiff powder-coated steel sheet keeps big engineering parts anchored at the corners where they most want to lift.
- Clean release. Let the plate cool, lift it off the bed and flex it — parts pop free. No chisels, no gouged surface.
- Durability. The coating is formulated for heat, scratch and corrosion resistance across hundreds of print-and-release cycles.
- Tool-free swaps. Magnetically held like every Bambu plate: pull one off, drop the next on, pick Engineering Plate in the slicer.
Which configuration is right for you?
| Option | What you get | Choose it if… |
|---|---|---|
| Engineering Plate | The H2C plate on its own (FAP039) | You already keep Bambu liquid glue or a glue stick on the bench, or you are adding a second plate to an existing setup |
| Engineering Plate + Glues | The same plate, plus Bambu Liquid Glue (LGL001, 60 mL) and a Bambu Glue Stick (SGL001, 21 g) | This is your first Engineering Plate, or you want to print the day the box arrives — remember this surface needs glue for every filament |
Still deciding? The plate is identical in both options — the bundle only adds the two adhesives. If you are unsure whether what is in your drawer is still usable, take the bundle; dried-out glue is the single most common cause of a failed first layer on this surface.

Care and cleaning
- Wash with warm water and a little dish soap to lift old glue, then dry fully before the next print.
- Never use acetone or aggressive solvents on this coating.
- Keep fingers off the print area — skin oils ruin adhesion; handle the plate by its edges or tabs.
- Re-coat with glue before each job rather than printing onto yesterday's layer.
Who it's for
H2C owners printing functional parts: jigs and fixtures, enclosures, drone and RC components, automotive brackets, tooling and short-run production in ABS, ASA, PC or nylon. It is also a sensible pick for schools and workshops that want a hard-wearing plate students can't easily destroy, and for anyone running a second plate so one job can cool on the bench while the next one starts. If you print almost nothing but PLA and PETG and don't want to bother with glue, a Textured PEI or Cool Plate SuperTack surface will suit you better — this plate earns its keep when the bed goes hot.
