About this product
Bambu Lab Filament Cutter Lever — H2D / H2C
Every time your H2D or H2C swaps filament, a small lever inside the extruder swings a blade across the strand and snips it clean. Bambu Lab describes the part plainly: the Filament Cutter Lever holds the cutter blade and drives it to slice filament. It is a tiny component doing a repetitive, high-load job, and on a busy multi-material machine it is one of the first things to wear out.
You'll know when it goes. Filament ends come back frayed or stringy instead of flat. Loads fail on one nozzle but not the other. The cutter clicks without biting, or the lever feels floppy because the torsion spring has lost its tension. Left unfixed, a bad cut becomes a blocked extruder on the next load — a ten-minute part swap turns into a toolhead strip-down.
This is the genuine Bambu Lab replacement, supplied with the matching torsion spring and mounting screw so you get a complete, correctly-tensioned repair rather than just the plastic arm.
Which configuration is right for you?
The H2D and H2C are dual-extruder machines, so there are two cutter levers in the toolhead — one per nozzle — and they are not the same part. Bambu Lab's maintenance guide is explicit: the cutter handles and their torsion springs differ between the left and right sides. Choose by the nozzle that's misbehaving.
| Option | OEM part | Choose it when… |
|---|---|---|
| Left | FAC093 | The left nozzle's cuts are failing, or the left lever is cracked, loose or missing its spring tension. |
| Right | FAC094 | The right nozzle's cuts are failing, or the right lever is cracked, loose or missing its spring tension. |
Not sure which side? Run a filament change and watch which nozzle leaves a ragged end. If both cutters have done heavy duty — and they usually wear at a similar rate — grab one of each and service the toolhead in a single sitting. Keeping a spare of each side on the shelf is cheap insurance for a school lab or a production machine that can't sit idle.
What's in the box
- 1 × Filament Cutter Lever (left or right, as selected)
- 1 × Torsion Spring, wound to suit that side
- 1 × MG2.5-19.5 Screw
Please note: the cutter blade is a separate Bambu Lab part (sold in 3-packs) and is not included here. If your blade is still sharp, reuse it — the lever and blade go into the extruder together. The H2.0 Allen key needed for the job isn't supplied either; it's the same size used elsewhere on the H2 toolhead, so most owners already have one.
Fitting it — about 15 minutes
- Power the printer off at the wall. Bambu Lab warns against working on toolhead wiring or electronics while the machine is live — short circuits damage boards and are a genuine safety risk. AU mains, AU plug, same rule as any appliance.
- Remove the worn lever and its spring, noting which side you're working on.
- Seat the new torsion spring over the cylinder with one end of the spring in the small locating hole.
- Insert the lever and blade into the extruder together.
- Hold the lever so it can't shift, and tighten the MG2.5-19.5 screw with an H2.0 Allen key.
Bambu Lab's wiki hosts the illustrated walkthrough under Replace Filament Cutter Lever for the H2 series. Worth knowing: the extruder's filament sensor also reports cutter-lever position, so cutter-related error codes aren't always the lever itself — check the lever's physical condition first, then the sensor.
Who it's for
Anyone running an H2D or H2C hard — makers printing multi-colour work, small businesses with a machine that needs to stay up, school and TAFE labs where a jammed extruder eats a whole class period, and tinkerers who'd rather keep a wear part on the shelf than wait on one. No soldering, no firmware changes, no calibration afterwards.
