Bambu Lab H2C — multi-material printing without the purge tower
Multi-colour and multi-material printing has always come with a tax: every filament change pushes the old material out through the nozzle, and that waste lands in a purge tower you throw away. The H2C takes a different approach. Instead of one nozzle cycling through filaments, it carries six interchangeable induction hotends on the Vortek system and swaps between them automatically. Material changes happen by changing hotend, not by flushing one plastic through another — which is why Bambu quotes up to 58% less purge waste, and why you can run up to seven materials in a single print with no cleaning cycle at all.
Underneath that sits a serious machine. A 330 × 320 × 325 mm build volume in a fully enclosed chamber with active heating to 65 °C, induction hotends that hit 350 °C in roughly eight seconds, a 120 °C bed, and a toolhead that moves at up to 1000 mm/s with 20,000 mm/s² acceleration. A Vision Encoder keeps motion accuracy under 50 µm, and the PMSM servo extruder can push with up to 10 kg of force — the sort of grip that matters when you're feeding flexible TPU or abrasive carbon-filled filament.

Who it's for
-
Small manufacturers and product designers — functional prototypes in PA, PC and carbon-filled materials, with soluble or contrasting supports printed from a separate hotend rather than purged through the same one.
-
Makers who print in colour — multi-colour models, signage and cosplay parts without a bin of purge blocks at the end of every job.
-
Schools and training workshops — enclosed, filtered and camera-monitored, with remote job control so a single machine can serve a whole class.
-
Workshops that also cut and engrave — the Laser Full Combo configurations put a Class 1 enclosed blue-light laser in the same cabinet, so printing and lasering share one bench.
Which configuration is right for you?
All four share the same printer. The difference is how many hotends and material systems come with it, and whether a laser module is fitted.
| Configuration |
What you get |
Choose it if… |
| AMS Combo / Standard |
H2C + 1 × AMS 2 Pro + 8 hotends. No laser. |
You want the Vortek printer and nothing you won't use. The best-value way in. |
| AMS Combo / Vortek Ultimate Bundle |
Adds AMS HT (85 °C drying) and an extended hotend set filling all six Vortek slots. No laser. |
You print engineering materials — nylon, PC, carbon-filled — and want seven-material jobs with zero manual hotend swapping. |
| Laser Full Combo / 10W |
Adds a 10W blue-light laser — 310 × 270 mm area, 400 mm/s engraving, 6 mm basswood cutting. |
Engraving is the main job and cutting is occasional. Signage, branded gifts, badges, labels. |
| Laser Full Combo / 40W |
Adds a 40W blue-light laser — 310 × 250 mm area, 1000 mm/s engraving, 15 mm basswood cutting. |
You cut thicker stock or run laser jobs in batches, where 2.5× the speed pays for itself. |
Short version: if you'll never use a laser, choose between the two AMS Combos on how much engineering-material work you do. If you will, the only real question is whether 6 mm or 15 mm cutting depth matches your material stack.

Setting it up in an Australian workshop
The H2C is a 32.5 kg machine in a 620 × 620 × 775 mm carton — plan for two people to lift it and a bench that can carry the weight without flexing. At 1800 W peak it's within a standard 10 A AU outlet, but keep it off a circuit shared with heaters, kettles or a compressor. Leave clearance behind and beside the printer for AMS units and for the enclosure door to swing. If you've chosen a laser configuration, sort fume extraction before the machine arrives: ducting to outside is the simplest answer, and in a school or shared space it's usually the required one.

H2C AMS Combo — Standard
This is the baseline H2C: the complete Vortek multi-material printer plus one AMS 2 Pro, with no laser module. If your work is printing — functional parts, multi-colour models, engineering materials — this configuration spends your money on printing and nothing else. You still get the whole Vortek story: six hotend slots, automatic contactless swapping, up to seven materials in one job, and up to 58% less purge waste than a conventional single-nozzle multi-material setup.
Because the H2C swaps hotends rather than pushing one filament through another, colour and material changes don't contaminate the melt zone. That matters most when you're mixing something soft or sticky with something rigid — TPU with PLA, or PETG supports under an ABS part — where traditional purging either wastes filament or leaves you chasing colour bleed. Build volume is 330 × 320 × 325 mm in a fully enclosed, actively heated 65 °C chamber, with 350 °C induction hotends and a 120 °C bed.

H2C Laser Full Combo — 10W
Everything the H2C does as a printer, plus a 10W blue-light laser module that drops into the same enclosure. For a small business making signage, branded gifts, badges or packaging prototypes, that's two machines' worth of capability on one bench and one footprint — print the housing on Monday, engrave the faceplate on Tuesday, without re-levelling anything.
The 10W module is the sensible pick if engraving is the main job and cutting is occasional. It handles wood, leather, dark acrylic, rubber, stone and coated metals, and cuts basswood up to 6 mm over a 310 × 270 mm working area. The printer side is unchanged: Vortek six-hotend swapping, up to seven materials per print, 350 °C induction hotends, a 120 °C bed and a 65 °C actively heated chamber.
What this adds over the AMS Combo
- 1 × Bambu Lab 10W laser module (455 nm ± 5 nm blue light, 850 nm ± 5 nm IR height measurement)
- Laser-ready H2C chassis with Class 1 enclosure interlocks and filtered exhaust path
- Laser accessory set — honeycomb bed, cutting/engraving consumables and safety eyewear
- AMS 2 Pro and hotend set as supplied with the Laser Full Combo

Buying from NE3D Printing
Shipped from our Australian warehouse with full local support. All prices include GST and a tax invoice comes with every order. Supplied with an Australian plug and rated for 240 V AU mains. Laser work produces fumes — plan for ducted exhaust to outside, or Bambu's filtration accessories, especially in a classroom or shared workspace. Bambu Lab warranty handled locally.
H2C Laser Full Combo — 40W
This is the H2C at its most capable: the complete Vortek multi-material printer plus the 40W laser module. The jump from 10W isn't just about thicker cuts — it's about how long a job takes. Engraving runs at up to 1000 mm/s against the 10W module's 400 mm/s, and the finer 0.14 × 0.2 mm spot holds detail while moving quickly. For a workshop doing repeat laser jobs rather than occasional ones, that difference compounds over every batch.
Cutting capacity goes from 6 mm to 15 mm basswood, which puts laser-cut enclosures, jigs, press-fit assemblies and thicker signage blanks on the table. Materials are the same family as the 10W: wood, leather, dark acrylic, rubber, stone and coated metals, just faster and deeper. The printer side is unchanged — 330 × 320 × 325 mm build volume, Vortek six-hotend swapping, 350 °C induction hotends, 120 °C bed, 65 °C heated chamber.
What this adds over the 10W combo
- 1 × Bambu Lab 40W laser module in place of the 10W (455 nm blue light, 850 nm IR height measurement)
- Cutting depth up to 15 mm in basswood versus 6 mm
- Engraving speed up to 1000 mm/s versus 400 mm/s
- Finer 0.14 × 0.2 mm laser spot for crisper small text and line work
- Laser accessory set and AMS 2 Pro as supplied with the Laser Full Combo

Buying from NE3D Printing
Shipped from our Australian warehouse with full local support. All prices include GST and a tax invoice comes with every order. Supplied with an Australian plug and rated for 240 V AU mains. A 40W laser gets through material fast and makes a correspondingly larger volume of fume — ducted extraction to outside is strongly recommended, and schools should check it against their local workshop policy before installing. Bambu Lab warranty handled locally.
H2C AMS Combo — Vortek Ultimate Bundle
The standard AMS Combo can do seven-material printing, but you'll be swapping hotends by hand between jobs to get there. The Vortek Ultimate Bundle is the version that doesn't ask you to: enough hotends to populate the carousel across nozzle sizes and materials, and a second material system so dry high-temp filament is always loaded and ready.
The AMS HT is the real differentiator. Where the AMS 2 Pro dries to 65 °C — fine for PLA, PETG and ABS — the HT runs to 85 °C, which is what PA (nylon), PC and carbon-filled engineering filaments actually need to stay printable. Running both together means you can mix a tough structural material with cosmetic colours in the same print without unloading and re-drying between jobs. For a small business doing functional prototypes, or a workshop where the machine is shared across projects, that's hours a week of handling removed. No laser module is fitted — this is the most capable pure-printing H2C.
What this adds over the standard AMS Combo
- 1 × AMS HT — single-spool, dries to 85 °C for high-temperature and carbon-filled filaments
- Extended hotend set: 3 × 0.4 mm induction hotends, 1 × 0.2 mm left hotend, 1 × 0.6 mm left hotend, 1 × 0.2 mm stainless steel hotend, 1 × 0.6 mm hardened steel hotend
- All six Vortek slots populated, so multi-material jobs start without manual hotend changes
- AMS 2 Pro, build plate, spool holder, 4-in-1 PTFE Adapter II and accessory box as per the standard combo
