About this product
Bambu Lab Hotend Cooling Fan Air Duct — H2D / H2C
The hotend cooling fan on an H2-series toolhead only does its job if the air actually reaches the heatbreak. That's this part. The Hotend Cooling Fan Air Duct sits between the TH board and the extruder and, in Bambu Lab's own words, “cools the hotend to prevent premature filament softening and clogs.” It's a small moulded plastic channel doing an unglamorous but critical job — when it's cracked, warped or missing after a hotend rebuild, heat creeps up the heatbreak, filament softens too early and you start chasing extrusion faults that look like a clogged nozzle.
This is the genuine Bambu Lab part (FAH027), not a printed copy — worth noting for a component that lives right next to the hot zone. It's the kind of thing worth keeping in the spares drawer alongside your nozzles and cutter blades, because the duct usually gets damaged during a repair rather than during a print.
Why you'd need one
- Damaged during a hotend or fan swap — the duct is a thin plastic moulding and the tabs don't love being levered on.
- Heat creep symptoms — filament softening above the melt zone, intermittent under-extrusion or jams that come back after every nozzle clean.
- Melted, deformed or discoloured duct after a nozzle blob or a long high-temp job.
- Preventative spare — for schools, print farms and workshops where a printer sitting idle waiting on a part costs more than the part.

What's in the box
- 1 × Hotend Cooling Fan Air Duct
- 3 × M2-5 screws
Not included: the hotend cooling fan itself, the fan bracket, the part cooling fan and the part cooling fan air duct are all separate Bambu Lab spare parts — the H2 toolhead has several different fans and ducts, so match the part name exactly before ordering. No hex driver is supplied; you'll need an H1.5 hex key, which is the same one in the standard Bambu Lab tool kit. There's no power supply, plug or wiring involved — this is a passive moulded duct.
Fitting it
Power the printer off and disconnect it from the wall before touching the toolhead — Bambu Lab's maintenance guides open with that warning for good reason. The duct is held by M2-5 screws driven with an H1.5 hex key; on the left-hand side you'll need to remove the nozzle silicone cover, release the quick-release latch and take the nozzle out before the fixing screws are accessible. Slot the new duct in, rotate it inward to seat it, then tighten the screws. Full step-by-step instructions and photos are on the Bambu Lab wiki: H2D/H2C hotend cooling fan air duct replacement guide.
