Bambu Lab Nozzle Wiping Pad — H2D / H2C

Every time your H2D or H2C starts a print, the toolhead parks over the purge wiper and drags the nozzle across a small silicone pad. That one-second routine is what stops leftover ooze from being dragged into your first layer. The pad does the dirty work, so it wears out — it bakes on plastic, hardens, cracks and eventually stops gripping the nozzle properly. This is the genuine Bambu Lab replacement pack, part FAW005, with five pads in the box.

It's a five-second, tool-free job: power the printer off, grab the old pad by the sides and pull it straight up off the purge wiper, then clip the new one in with the two clips facing inward and the flat face outward. No screws, no recalibration, no firmware steps.

What it does

• Automatic nozzle cleaning. The pad sits on the nozzle wiper section of the purge wiper and removes residual waste from the nozzle. The wipe runs at the start of every print job with no input from you.
• Soft silicone contact. Bambu Lab specify soft silicone so the pad conforms around a hot nozzle instead of skating past it — that's what makes the wipe actually scrub rather than smear.
• Protects your first layer. A tired pad leaves ooze on the nozzle, and that ooze ends up dragged across the plate. If you've started seeing debris marks or dark specks in layer one, the pad is the first thing to check.
• Keeps multi-material prints clean. On a dual-nozzle H2D or H2C running frequent material changes, the wiper earns its keep — more purges means a faster-wearing pad.

When to replace it

Bambu Lab's guidance is simple: replace the pad as soon as it shows signs of aging, cracking or damage. Under normal printing the pad won't fall off on its own — it only gets scraped away in unusual cases such as an abnormal toolhead motion path. In practice, swap it when the silicone goes hard and glazed, when plastic has caked onto the surface, or when the nozzle still looks dirty after a wipe cycle. Five pads in a pack means a long run of routine maintenance for one printer, or a sensible shelf spare for a workshop, school lab or print farm running several H2-series machines.

No screws or tools are needed or supplied — the H2D/H2C pad clips in by hand. (The separate H2S version of this consumable is a different part altogether: wiping strips plus screws and a silicone block. Make sure you're ordering for the right printer.)

Specifications

Safety note: power the printer off at the switch before working around the toolhead or purge wiper. Let the hotend cool first — the wiper area sits directly under a nozzle that runs well above 200 °C.
