About this product
Bambu Lab Part Cooling Fan Air Duct — H2D / H2C
The part cooling fan air duct sits at the base of your H2 series toolhead and, in Bambu Lab's own words, "works in tandem with the Part Cooling Fan to quickly cool extruded filament." It's a small moulded plastic channel doing a big job: without it, the fan's airflow scatters instead of hitting the nozzle, and overhangs, bridges and small-layer parts start drooping.
It's also the part that takes the beating. Sitting closest to a 300°C hotend, it's first in line when a print detaches and welds itself to the toolhead, or when a blob of filament builds up around the nozzle. Cracked, warped, melted or stubbornly clogged with plastic — once the duct geometry is damaged, cooling never comes back to spec until it's replaced. This is the genuine Bambu Lab replacement (OEM part FAF012), supplied with the four screws you need to fit it.
Genuine Bambu Lab FAF012 H2D · H2D Pro · H2D Laser · H2C 4 screws included ~10 minute fit No wiring
Why you'd replace it
- Crash or print-failure damage — the duct is cracked, snapped or deformed after a part came loose
- Heat damage — the mouth of the duct has melted or distorted from sitting against a hot nozzle
- Blocked airflow — filament build-up inside the channel that won't clear, so overhangs and bridges sag
- Routine spares — a sensible thing to have on the shelf in a school lab, makerspace or print farm where downtime costs more than the part
Fitting it
Bambu Lab's maintenance guide makes this one of the easier toolhead jobs — there's no connector or cable to deal with, just four screws.
- Power the printer off first. Bambu Lab's wiki is explicit about powering down before any work on the printer, its electronics or the toolhead wiring.
- Using an H2.0 hex key, remove the four BT3x8 screws that fix the duct.
- Hold the rear end of the duct and pull it downwards to remove it.
- Fit the new duct and secure it with the four BT3-8 screws supplied in the box.
Heads up: the H2.0 hex key is not included — it's the same one from your printer's accessory kit. If you're removing the duct in order to reach the part cooling fan behind it, the duct always comes off first.
What's in the box
- 1 × Part Cooling Fan Air Duct (FAF012)
- 4 × BT3-8 screws
Duct only — the part cooling fan is a separate part. This listing is the moulded air duct and its screws. If your fan itself is noisy, stalled or damaged, you need the Bambu Lab Part Cooling Fan – H2 Series (FAF013 for H2D/H2C), which is sold on its own. Many people replace both at once after a bad crash. There is also no H2S version of this duct — the H2S toolhead uses different parts.
Compatibility
Bambu Lab H2D, H2D Pro, H2D Laser and H2C. Not compatible with H2S / H2S Laser, and not interchangeable with the hotend cooling fan air duct — the H2 toolhead carries several different fans and ducts, so check you're ordering the part-cooling one at the base of the toolhead.
