About this product
Bambu Lab Part Cooling Fan — H2D / H2C
Part cooling is what turns a fast print into a clean one. This fan sits at the base of your H2D or H2C toolhead and, working together with the part cooling fan air duct, pushes air straight onto freshly extruded filament so overhangs hold their shape, bridges stay flat, and small top layers set before the nozzle swings back around. Bambu Lab describes it simply: “The Part Cooling Fan, located at the toolhead’s base, works in tandem with the Air Duct to swiftly cool extruded filament.”
If yours has started ticking or rattling, spins up slower than it used to, has taken a knock during a crash or nozzle jam, or has stopped turning altogether, this is the genuine Bambu Lab replacement — OEM part FAF013, supplied with the four mounting screws you need to fit it.
Genuine Bambu Lab FAF013 H2D & H2C toolhead Screws included One-tool fit AU stock
Key features
- Genuine Bambu Lab component. The same fan assembly fitted at the factory, so the connector, screw pattern and fan curve all match what your printer’s firmware expects — no shimming, no adapter cables, no guesswork.
- Direct toolhead fit. Mounts to the rear/base of the H2D or H2C toolhead behind the air duct and plugs straight into the toolhead board.
- Hardware in the packet. Two BT2.6-8 and two BT3-20 screws are included, so you are not hunting through a parts bin mid-repair.
- A single tool. The whole job is done with an H2.0 hex key — the one from your printer’s accessory kit is the right size.
- Sensible to keep on the shelf. Fans are a wear item on any printer. Schools, makerspaces and small production shops running H2D/H2C machines back-to-back should hold a spare rather than lose a week of printing to a dead fan.
What’s in the box
- 1 × Part Cooling Fan (H2D / H2C)
- 2 × BT2.6-8 screw
- 2 × BT3-20 screw (8 mm thread length)
Please note: this is the fan only. The Part Cooling Fan Air Duct (FAF012) is a separate Bambu Lab part and is not included — if your duct is cracked or melted, order it alongside this fan. An H2.0 hex key is also not supplied.
Fitting it — what to expect
Follow the official Bambu Lab wiki guide, Replace Part Cooling Fan (H2 series), and work with the printer powered off at the wall. In short:
- Remove the air duct first. Undo its four BT3x8 screws with the H2.0 hex key, then hold the rear end of the duct and pull it downwards to release it.
- Undo the fan’s four screws. Bambu marks them on the housing — the BT3x20 screws are marked with a square symbol and the BT2.6x8 screws with a circle symbol. Keep track of which is which; this is the step people get wrong.
- Unplug carefully. Bambu’s warning is worth quoting in full: “hold the base of the connector and lift straight up, perpendicular to the PCB surface. Never apply force in the horizontal direction to avoid damaging the connector.”
- Fit the new fan with the supplied screws, reconnect, refit the duct, then power up and confirm the fan spins during a test print before committing to a long job.
It is a beginner-friendly repair — if you have changed a nozzle, you can do this.
Where part cooling matters most
A healthy part cooling fan has the biggest effect on the materials you print every day:
- PLA and PLA+ — the most cooling-hungry filaments; a weak fan shows up immediately as droopy overhangs and rough small features.
- PETG — moderate cooling keeps stringing and bridging under control.
- TPU and flexibles — steady airflow helps thin walls set before they deform.
- ABS, ASA and PC — normally run with cooling turned down or off, so a failing fan may go unnoticed until you switch back to PLA.
Compatibility
Designed for the Bambu Lab H2D and H2C toolhead, including the H2D Pro and Laser editions. The H2S and H2S Laser use a different part cooling fan (FAF020) with different mounting screws — check your model before ordering.
The H2 series also has several other fans that are not this part: the hotend cooling fan, the auxiliary part cooling fan in the left chamber wall, the MC board fan, and the toolhead enhanced cooling fan. If you are diagnosing a fan error code, confirm which fan the printer is reporting before you buy.
