About this product
Bambu Lab Silicone Sock for Hotend — H2S (3-Pack)
The silicone sock is the small black cover that wraps your H2S hotend, and it does more work than its size suggests. Bambu Lab describes its job as maintaining nozzle temperature stability and isolating impurities — keeping cooling airflow off the heater block so the hotend holds its setpoint, and stopping oozed or retracted filament from soiling the nozzle and spoiling print quality. It is a consumable: silicone ages, stretches and tears with heat and with the constant rub of the nozzle wiper, so keeping spares on the shelf is cheaper than chasing mystery temperature faults mid-print.
This is the genuine Bambu Lab part (FAH022), supplied as a pack of three in black silicone — enough to cover a full year of maintenance for most hobby machines, or a single term of hard use in a school or small-business workshop.

What it does for your prints
- Holds the setpoint. The sock insulates the heater block from part-cooling airflow, so the nozzle isn't fighting a draught every time the fans ramp up. Steadier temperature means more consistent extrusion, layer bonding and surface finish.
- Keeps the hotend clean. It isolates oozing and retracted filament from the heater block, so you're not chipping off a carbonised blob every few weeks — a common cause of clogs and under-extrusion.
- Protects the assembly. A snug sock shields the nozzle and block from molten plastic adhesion and from knocks during purging and wiping.
- Keeps automation honest. A loose or torn sock can interfere with the H2S wiping and levelling routines — a fresh one keeps those cycles clean.
- Three in the pack. Swap on a schedule instead of waiting for a failure, and keep a spare in the toolbox for a travelling or classroom machine.
When to replace yours
Bambu Lab's H2S maintenance guide lists the signs worth checking at your next nozzle clean:
- Visible cracks or tears — any opening lets heat escape and makes printing temperatures unstable.
- Looseness or slipping off — a sock that no longer grips can't protect the nozzle and heating block, and may interfere with wiping or levelling.
- Deformation — prolonged high temperatures stretch the silicone until it no longer fits tightly or fully covers the hotend.
- Frequent filament build-up on the heating block — a failed cover can't block oozing or retracted filament, which leads to clogs.
- Discolouration or brittleness — signs the silicone has aged and is nearing failure.
- Friction wear from moving parts, such as the nozzle wiper, which rubs the sock every print.
Fitting it — no tools needed
- Power the printer off and disconnect it from the wall before you touch the toolhead — and let the hotend cool completely.
- Open the Toolhead Front Cover Assembly to expose the hotend.
- Hold both sides of the old sock and pull it diagonally downward with a firm, steady force.
- Fit the new sock from the bottom upward until it seats evenly, then check it sits square with no slanting or looseness before you close up.
No Allen key, no disassembly of the hotend itself — it's a two-minute job between prints.

Compatibility — read this before you order
This is the H2 Series sock: Bambu Lab and its distributors list part FAH022 for the H2S and H2S Laser, and for the H2D and H2D Laser.
H2-series socks are not interchangeable with P2S or A1 socks. Bambu Lab's own FAQ confirms the parts differ between those generations — fitting the wrong sock results in a loose fit and can trigger a printer warning. If you're printing on a P2S, X2D, X1, P1 or A1 machine, order the sock listed for that model instead.
