About this product
Bambu Lab Smoke Purifier
Laser engraving and cutting is the fun part. The smoke isn't. Cutting plywood, acrylic, leather or MDF throws off fine particulate and volatile organic compounds, and in a garage, spare room, classroom or small workshop that haze has to go somewhere. The Bambu Lab Smoke Purifier is the factory-matched answer: a sealed extraction and filtration unit that connects directly to your H2 series laser, captures what comes off the workpiece, and either scrubs it through a four-stage filter stack or ducts it outside through the included 2 m pipe.
It's the accessory that turns "I can only cut with the roller door open" into "I can run a job on a wet Tuesday night". For schools and small businesses, it's also the difference between a laser you can site in a shared space and one you can't.

How the filtration actually works
Four stages, in series, each one handling what the last can't:
- G4 primary filter — catches sawdust, ash and the coarse debris that would otherwise clog everything downstream. This is the cheap sacrificial layer, and it's doing you a favour.
- F8 medium-efficiency filter — takes out the mid-range particulate before it reaches the expensive stages.
- Activated carbon filter (1200 mg/g adsorption) — the one that deals with smell. Adsorbs the gases, chemical odours and VOCs that a particle filter passes straight through.
- HEPA H13 filter — the final polish, trapping the ultrafine smoke particles down to 0.3 µm.
Combined, the stack removes up to 99% of ultrafine 0.3 µm particles and VOCs. When a filter reaches the end of its service life the purifier beeps to tell you — you're not guessing from smell alone, and you're not running a spent HEPA for another three months without realising.
Who it's for
- H2D / H2S Laser owners working indoors — the intended pairing, and the reason this unit exists.
- Home makers without external venting — renters, apartments, or any setup where cutting a hole in the wall isn't an option. Run it in recirculating filtration mode.
- Schools and makerspaces — a documented, factory-supported filtration path makes the risk assessment conversation a lot shorter.
- Small businesses running batch jobs — long back-to-back cutting sessions are where unfiltered smoke stops being an annoyance and becomes a genuine air-quality problem.
- ABS/ASA and engineering-filament printers — H2 series owners also use it to extract fumes from high-temp printing, not just laser work.
What's in the box
- 1 × Smoke Purifier unit (model SP001, AU version)
- 1 × Primary filter (G4) — fitted
- 1 × Medium-efficiency filter (F8) — fitted
- 1 × High-efficiency filter (HEPA H13 + activated carbon) — fitted
- 1 × 2 m smoke ventilation pipe (purifier → outdoors)
- Power lead and documentation
Worth knowing before you order: the included 2 m pipe runs from the purifier to the outdoors. The pipe and adapter that connect your printer to the purifier's intake are sold separately. If you're on a non-laser H2 model such as the H2C, you'll need the Smoke Ventilation Pipe Adapter plus a length of ventilation pipe as well — every H2 series printer has the mounting screw holes for the adapter, so the hardware is there waiting. Add them to your cart and we'll pack the lot together.
Materials it's designed to handle
The purifier is built for the fumes and particulate from standard laser stock — plywood, MDF, hardwood, acrylic, leather, card, paper, felt, cork and fabric — as well as extraction duty for ABS, ASA and other high-temperature filaments on the H2 series.
One safety note we won't skip: no filtration unit makes chlorinated plastics safe to cut. Never laser PVC, vinyl, or PTFE — they release corrosive chlorine and fluorine compounds that will wreck the filters and the machine, and are genuinely hazardous. Stick to laser-safe materials and let the purifier handle the rest.

Keeping it running well
- Replace the G4 primary filter most often — it's the cheapest part and it protects the expensive ones.
- Plan on the HEPA stage every 800–1000 hours of use. Heavy plywood and MDF cutting will shorten that; light acrylic engraving will stretch it.
- If you can vent outdoors, do — ducting the exhaust outside extends filter life considerably compared with full recirculation.
- Keep a spare filter set on the shelf. Mid-job is a bad time to discover you're out.
