About this product
Bambu Lab Toolhead Camera — H2D / H2C
The toolhead camera is the small 1080p module tucked onto the right side of your H2 toolhead, and it does far more than stream a picture. Bambu Lab's own description sums it up: the camera "enables motion accuracy calibration, precise nozzle offset adjustment, and code recognition for the build plate and laser pad." On a dual-nozzle machine like the H2D or H2C, that nozzle offset calibration is what keeps your two extruders landing on exactly the same coordinates — so when the camera stops working, the symptoms usually show up as failed calibration routines and build plates that won't be recognised, not as a missing video feed.
This is the genuine Bambu Lab service part (FAC092), supplied with the two M2-5 bracket screws you need to fit it. It's a sensible spare to keep on the shelf if your printer is earning its keep in a workshop, classroom or small production run.

What this camera actually does
- Motion accuracy calibration — the camera watches the toolhead's movement so the printer can check and correct its own motion system.
- High-precision nozzle offset calibration — the step that aligns the H2D/H2C's two nozzles to each other. Multi-material and multi-colour prints depend on it.
- Build plate and laser pad code recognition — it reads the identification codes on your plates so the printer knows which surface is installed, and (on Laser editions) identifies the laser pad.
Worth knowing before you buy: this is not the nozzle camera. The H2 family carries several separate cameras — the toolhead camera (this part), the macro nozzle camera that handles first-layer and AI print-failure monitoring, the live view camera and the birds-eye camera. They're different SKUs with different mounts, so if your fault is with first-layer AI detection rather than calibration, the nozzle camera is the part you want.
What's in the box
- 1 × Toolhead Camera (H2D/H2C, part FAC092)
- 2 × M2-5 mounting screws
Tools are not included. Bambu Lab's replacement guide calls for an H1.5 Allen key to tighten the two camera-bracket screws, with an H2.0 Allen key for the surrounding toolhead work — both are standard hex keys most H2 owners already have in their tool kit.
Fitting it
Follow Bambu Lab's official wiki guide for your machine, and keep two things front of mind:
- Power the printer off first. Bambu Lab is explicit that working on toolhead electronics with the printer powered on risks a short circuit, electronic damage and a safety hazard.
- Lift the connector straight up. In Bambu Lab's words: "hold the base of the connector with your hand and lift straight up, perpendicular to the PCB surface, to unlock it. Never apply force in the horizontal direction to avoid damaging the connector." This is the step that catches people out.
- Align the camera bracket with the screw holes, then tighten the two fixing screws with the H1.5 key — snug, not forced.
Once it's back together, run the calibration routine in Bambu Studio or on the printer to confirm the camera is seen and the nozzle offset completes.
Who it's for
Owners whose H2D or H2C is throwing camera or calibration errors, makers restoring a second-hand machine, and schools, workshops and small businesses that would rather hold a spare than lose a week of printing to a parcel in transit. It's a two-screw job — comfortable for a confident beginner who takes the power-off and connector warnings seriously.
