About this product
Bambu Lab Tungsten Carbide Hotend — H2D / H2S / H2C (left) / P2S / X2D
Carbon-fibre, glass-fibre and metal-filled filaments are abrasive enough to quietly round out a hardened steel nozzle — first you lose dimensional accuracy, then you lose the print. Bambu Lab's tungsten carbide hotend replaces the tip with a material rated HRA 90 against hardened steel's HRA 74, which Bambu quotes as roughly 50% more nozzle life on fibre-reinforced filaments. It's a genuine quick-swap part: the heating assembly stays on the printer and the hotend releases on a latch, so a change takes minutes with almost no tools.

Six configurations, two decisions
Every option in this listing uses the same tungsten carbide tip and the same 350 °C, 49.2 mm hotend body. You're choosing two things: the flow tier (how much molten plastic the hotend can push per second) and the nozzle size (how much it lays down per pass).
- Standard Flow — the same melt-zone design as the hotend your printer shipped with, rated to 40 mm³/s. Right for detail work, mixed hobby printing and anyone who just wants a tougher nozzle.
- High Flow — an optimised, longer melt zone rated to 65 mm³/s, which Bambu quotes as up to 62.5% higher max volumetric speed and up to 30% off print time. Right when the printer is your bottleneck.
Which configuration is right for you?
| Configuration | Best for | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Standard Flow · 0.4 mm | Fine detail, small text, the widest material list; a like-for-like upgrade from the stock nozzle size | Slowest of the six — 24 mm³/s on PLA Basic |
| Standard Flow · 0.6 mm | All-round functional parts, brackets and CF/GF engineering prints | Softer small features; silk PLA not recommended |
| Standard Flow · 0.8 mm | Large jigs, fixtures and enclosures; draft geometry | Coarse detail; silk PLA not recommended |
| High Flow · 0.4 mm | Keeping 0.4 mm detail while cutting print time — 40 mm³/s on PLA Basic, 48 on PLA Matte | Costs more than the standard body; needs a profile flow bump to pay off |
| High Flow · 0.6 mm | Small-batch production in abrasive engineering filament — the best throughput-to-detail balance | Not for miniatures or fine lettering |
| High Flow · 0.8 mm | Maximum throughput: big structural parts, tooling, back-to-back production | Coarsest finish in the range |
Quick rule of thumb: pick the size for the parts you print and the flow tier for how often you print them. A school lab or weekend maker is well served by Standard Flow; a shop running fibre-filled nylon most days will earn back a High Flow body in machine hours.

Before you order — three things to check
- H2C owners: this hotend fits the left (lifting) hotend only. The right side on an H2C uses the induction hotend.
- H2D dual-nozzle printing: the dual-nozzle function currently supports only two nozzles of the same size, so buy a matching pair if you run both toolheads.
- Materials: the 0.4 mm nozzle has the widest material support; silk-based PLA isn't recommended at 0.6 or 0.8 mm, and TPU 85A/90A isn't recommended on tungsten carbide at any size.
The hotend separates from the heating assembly on a latch, so your fan, ceramic heater and thermistor stay on the printer — there's no rewiring, no thermal paste and no PID faff. Let the hotend cool fully before swapping.
Who it's for
Makers who've moved past PLA into PLA-CF, PETG-CF or PAHT-CF; small businesses printing end-use parts in fibre-filled nylon; schools and makerspaces that need a nozzle to survive a term of mixed-material student use; and anyone running an H2D, H2S, H2C, P2S or X2D who is tired of replacing steel nozzles.
Shipped from Australia by NE3D Printing
Genuine Bambu Lab parts, stocked locally and dispatched with tracking to metro and regional AU — all prices include GST. There's no plug or power supply to match: the hotend runs off your printer's existing 240 V AC toolhead wiring. Not sure which size or flow tier suits your work? Ask us before you buy.
