About this product
Bambu Lab Auxiliary Hotend Heating Assembly — X2D (Right)
The X2D earns its keep because it runs two nozzles: a direct-drive main hotend on the left, and a Bowden-fed auxiliary hotend on the right that lays down soluble supports or a second colour. This is the heating assembly for that right-hand side. In Bambu Lab's own words, it “is installed on the toolhead for the right hotend, and is responsible for heating the nozzle” — and it holds the hotend with a clamping mechanism so the hotend itself can be pulled for maintenance without dismantling the toolhead.
If your right nozzle has stopped reaching temperature, throws a heating or thermistor error, or the assembly has been damaged during a crash or a stubborn clog clean-up, this is the replacement part. It's the genuine Bambu Lab component (part FAH058), not an aftermarket copy — which matters on a part that sits inside a 65 °C chamber and carries mains-derived heater current.

⚠️ Left and right are not interchangeable
The X2D carries two different heating assemblies. This listing is the right-hand auxiliary assembly (FAH058). The left/main hotend takes a different part (FAH057) and the two cannot be substituted for one another — check which side has failed before you order. If you're not sure, the left nozzle is the direct-drive one fed by the extruder on the toolhead; the right is the Bowden-fed auxiliary fed from the rear of the machine.
Who it's for
- X2D owners with a dead right nozzle — heating faults, thermistor errors, or a nozzle that won't come up to temperature.
- Print farms and small businesses keeping a spare on the shelf so a dual-material job isn't held up waiting on freight.
- Schools and makerspaces where toolheads take knocks and a repairable printer beats a warranty queue.
- Anyone who printed abrasives on the auxiliary side and damaged the assembly getting a seized hotend out.
What it does on the machine
The right nozzle on the X2D is the support-material and second-colour workhorse — typically running PVA, HIPS or a contrast filament while the left nozzle prints your model. The heating assembly brings that nozzle to temperature and clamps it in position. The assembly stays mounted on the toolhead; the hotend slides out of it, which is why Bambu Lab sells them as separate parts.
Before you start: power the printer off and disconnect it from the wall, and let the hotend cool right down — this part sits in a chamber that runs to 65 °C and a nozzle that runs to 300 °C. Bambu Lab's X2D replacement guide uses an Allen key to release the cable locking tab and the mounting hardware; take care not to pinch the assembly cable when you route it back.
What's in the box
- 1 × Right Auxiliary Hotend Heating Assembly (FAH058)
That's genuinely all of it. Bambu Lab ships this one with no screws and no baffle plate — unlike some of its H2D siblings — so plan to reuse the mounting hardware already on your toolhead. Not included: the hotend and nozzle (a separate part), the hotend cooling fan (separate again), and the Allen key.
