About this product
E3D High Flow ObXidian™ Hotend — Bambu Lab P1 Series
This is the official E3D and Bambu Lab collaboration hotend, built specifically for the P1P and P1S. Inside the familiar Bambu form factor is E3D's high-flow melt zone, which raises volumetric flow by around 60% over the stock Bambu hotend, topped with an ObXidian hardened nozzle finished in E3D's E3DLC coating for non-stick, abrasion-resistant printing. It drops straight into the toolhead — no mounting changes, no cooling modifications, no firmware fiddling.
The practical upshot: faster prints without pushing your extruder into under-extrusion, and a nozzle that survives the filaments that destroy brass — glow-in-the-dark, glitter and sparkle PLA, wood- and metal-filled blends, and carbon- or glass-reinforced composites.
+60% volumetric flow 300 °C max ObXidian hardened tip P1P & P1S Drop-in fit
Which configuration is right for you?
There are two decisions to make: how much of the assembly you want (Complete Hotend vs Hotend) and which nozzle size (0.4 mm vs 0.6 mm). The hotend itself is identical across all four — the flow performance and the ObXidian tip don't change.
| Option | You get | Choose it if… |
|---|---|---|
| Complete Hotend | Pre-assembled with the P1 hotend cooling fan, heating element and temperature sensor fitted, plus sock, retaining clip and bolts | You want the quickest, lowest-risk swap, your old heater or fan is tired, or you'd rather keep the original hotend intact as a spare |
| Hotend (metal only) | The hotend alone, with thermal grease, silicone sock, heater retaining spring and 2× bolts — you transfer your existing heater, thermistor and fan across | Your current electronics are in good health and you're comfortable spending 15–20 minutes inside the toolhead |
| 0.4 mm nozzle | 29 mm³/s PLA · 32 mm³/s PETG · 35 mm³/s ASA · 33 mm³/s PC | General-purpose printing — miniatures, detailed models, enclosures. Your existing 0.4 mm profiles carry straight over |
| 0.6 mm nozzle | 36 mm³/s PLA · 42 mm³/s PETG · 34 mm³/s ASA | Functional parts, big props, jigs and composite filaments — thicker layers, stronger walls, far shorter print times |
Still unsure? Most P1 owners upgrading for the first time take the Complete Hotend / 0.4 mm — easiest install, no profile rework. Workshops and small businesses printing production parts tend to buy a 0.6 mm and keep a 0.4 mm on the shelf for detail jobs.

What's in the box
- Complete Hotend: pre-assembled ObXidian hotend with P1-series cooling fan, heating element and temperature sensor fitted, plus silicone sock, hotend retaining clip and 2× mounting bolts
- Hotend (metal only): ObXidian hotend, thermal grease, Bambu Lab silicone sock, heater retaining spring and 2× bolts — reuse your existing heater, thermistor and fan
Who it's for
- Makers and hobbyists who've hit the flow ceiling of the stock hotend and want speed without a new printer
- Small businesses and print farms running batch jobs where hours saved per print compound quickly
- Anyone printing abrasives — sparkle and glow PLA, wood- and metal-filled blends, CF/GF composites (note that very aggressive carbon- and glass-filled nylons will still wear the tip faster than plain filaments)
- Schools and workshops replacing a worn or clogged hotend and upgrading performance in the same swap
Good to know before you buy
- This listing is for the P1 Series only — fitting a P1-series assembly to an X1C requires the X1C version instead
- Run a flow-rate and pressure-advance calibration after installing, and set the new nozzle size in Bambu Studio or Handy
- Let the hotend cool completely and power the printer off before swapping anything
