Extruder gears are a wear part. Every millimetre of filament that passes through your toolhead is gripped by two small gears, and if you print anything filled with carbon or glass fibre, those gears are being sandblasted from the inside. When grip starts slipping, extrusion goes inconsistent or you hear the dreaded click-click under load, the gears are usually the culprit — not the whole extruder.

This is the genuine Bambu Lab hardened steel gear assembly: the driven gear and active gear that sit inside the extruder unit of the X1 and P1 series. It's sold as a standalone part specifically so you can restore full extrusion force for the cost of a small spare instead of replacing the entire extruder unit.

Please note: this is the gear set only. No extruder motor, hotend, nozzle or filament cutter is included, and unlike the A1 version of this part, the X1/P1 assembly does not ship with a ball bearing. Keep the screws from your existing extruder for reassembly.

Rated by Bambu Lab for PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, PC and TPU, plus the fibre-reinforced range that makes hardened steel worth having: PLA-CF, PETG-CF, PA6-CF, PAHT-CF and PET-CF. All at 1.75 mm.

Specifications

Fitment warning: this part is for the X1 and P1 series only. The A1 and A1 mini use a different gear assembly (which includes a ball bearing), and the H2, P2S, A2L and X2D each use their own part. Check your printer model before ordering.

Being a purely mechanical spare, there's nothing to plug in — no power supply, adaptor or AU plug involved, and no firmware change needed after fitting.
