About this product
Bambu Lab Hotend Heating Assembly — X2D (Left)
The hotend heating assembly is the block that sits on your X2D toolhead and brings the nozzle up to temperature. In Bambu Lab's own words, it is "installed on the toolhead for the left hotend, and is responsible for heating the nozzle." It also holds the hotend with a clamping mechanism, which is what lets you swap a hotend quickly during maintenance. If your left nozzle has stopped heating, is throwing thermal errors, or the assembly has been physically damaged, this is the genuine Bambu Lab replacement — OEM part FAH057.
⚠️ Check your side before you order. The X2D carries two heating assemblies and they are not interchangeable. This is the left assembly, which serves the main direct-drive hotend. If you need the right-hand side, you want the Auxiliary Hotend Heating Assembly instead — ordering the wrong side leaves you with a part you can't fit.

Who it's for
Anyone keeping an X2D running rather than waiting on a service booking — home makers, small production shops, and school or makerspace technicians who maintain their own machines. Typical reasons people buy this part:
- Heating faults — the left nozzle won't reach temperature, heats erratically, or the printer reports a heating or thermal runaway error.
- Physical damage — a crash, a stubborn blob of filament, or a nozzle strike that has damaged the assembly or its wiring.
- Worn clamp — the hotend no longer seats securely after many swaps.
- Planned spares — schools and print farms keeping a shelf part so a down machine is a ten-minute fix, not a week of downtime.
What's in the box
Bambu Lab's packing list for FAH057 is short and specific:
- Left Hotend Heating Assembly ×1
Not included — worth knowing before you order, so nothing stalls mid-repair:
- Hotend and nozzle — these separate from the assembly at the quick-release clamp and are sold as their own part.
- Hotend cooling fan — a separate component, even though the maintenance guide often covers both jobs together.
- Allen key — no tool is supplied with this part. Unlike some other Bambu heating assemblies, this pack does not include mounting screws either, so keep the hardware from the assembly you remove.
Fitting it safely
- Power off and unplug the printer at the wall before touching the toolhead.
- Let the hotend cool completely — this part runs hot in normal use.
- Mind the cable. Route the assembly's cable clear of the heating base and don't pinch it when you refit the toolhead.
- Follow the official guide for your machine: the Bambu Lab Wiki has an X2D-specific walkthrough at wiki.bambulab.com — Replace Hotend Heating Assembly (X2D).
It's a straightforward job for anyone comfortable with basic printer maintenance, but it is toolhead work — if you'd rather not, any competent repair tech will have it done quickly.
