About this product
Bambu Lab Lubricant Oil (FAZ031)
Your printer's motion system is the one part that never stops working. Every layer, the toolhead rides the linear guides and steel shafts thousands of times — and dry, dusty rails are where ghosting artefacts, grinding noise and premature bearing wear start. Bambu Lab Lubricant Oil is the manufacturer's own light-bodied lubricant for exactly those surfaces: a transparent, low-friction oil that spreads thin, stays put, and keeps your axes gliding the way they did out of the box.
It arrives as six individual 3 g tubes rather than one big bottle. That's a deliberately practical format — you crack open one tube per maintenance session, use what you need, and the other five stay factory-sealed and contamination-free. For most makers, one pack covers well over a year of scheduled servicing.

Quieter, smoother motion
- Formulated for rails and rods. Bambu Lab specifies this oil for linear guides, slide rails and steel shafts — the Y-axis and Z-axis rods where a light film is exactly what the bearings want.
- Cuts friction, noise and wear. A properly oiled rail moves quietly and consistently, which shows up as cleaner walls and fewer motion artefacts on tall prints.
- Single-dose tubes. No decanting, no half-empty bottle collecting workshop dust, no guessing how much is left.
- Transparent and light-bodied. It won't discolour parts or leave the tacky residue that attracts the fine dust and filament swarf floating around a busy print room.
- The right half of the kit. Oil handles rails; grease handles lead screws. Together they cover a full Bambu Lab service.
Where to use it (and where not to)
| Y / Z linear rods & shafts | ✅ Yes — this is what the oil is made for. Wipe clean, apply a few drops, work the axis back and forth, wipe off the excess. |
| Linear guides / slide rails | ✅ Yes — a thin film along the rail surface is all that's needed. |
| Z-axis lead screws | ⚠️ Works, but oil evaporates and needs frequent re-application — Bambu Lab Lubricant Grease is the better choice here. |
| X-axis carbon rods (X1 / P1) | ❌ No. Bambu Lab's maintenance guidance is to clean carbon rods with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth only — no oil, no grease. |
As a rough servicing rhythm, most Bambu Lab owners oil the Y and Z linear rods every couple of months, re-grease the Z lead screws monthly to quarterly, and wipe the X-axis carbon rods down fortnightly. Heavy, dusty or school-workshop duty cycles warrant the shorter end of each interval. Always check the maintenance page on the Bambu Lab Wiki for your exact model.
Who it's for
- New Bambu Lab owners who've hit their first "time for maintenance" reminder and want the genuine consumable rather than a guess from the hardware shop.
- Enthusiasts running print farms where machines rack up hours fast and motion quality is the first thing to drift.
- Schools and makerspaces that need a tidy, sealed, single-dose format a student or technician can use without making a mess.
- Small businesses protecting the resale value and uptime of a machine that pays for itself.
What's in the box
