About this product
Bambu Lab Silicone Sock for Hotend — P1 Series
The silicone sock is the small consumable that quietly keeps your P1 Series printing consistently. It wraps the heater block to hold heat where it belongs, so the nozzle sits at a steadier temperature instead of fighting the part-cooling fan on every layer. Just as importantly, it stops stray filament welding itself to the heater block — the slow build-up that eventually turns into a charred blob and a frustrating teardown.
Socks are wear items. Heat cycling makes them stiffen, tear at the notch, or sag away from the block, and a loose sock insulates nothing. This is the genuine Bambu Lab part (FAH001-S-3), moulded to fit the P1 hotend properly, and it comes three to a pack — so you can swap one now and keep spares on the shelf for the next two changes.
Key features
3-pack
Rated to 300°C
Silicone rubber
Tool-free fit
Genuine Bambu Lab
P1P & P1S
- Stable nozzle temperature. Thermal insulation around the heater block reduces the swing caused by part-cooling airflow, so the heater cycles less and your flow stays more consistent.
- Keeps the hotend clean. Prevents plastic adhesion and oozed filament baking onto the heater block — less scraping, fewer blobs dragged into a print.
- High-temperature silicone. Rated for printing temperatures up to 300°C, with a published operating range of −10°C to 300°C — that covers every material the P1P and P1S can run.
- Tear resistant. Moulded silicone rubber stands up to repeated heat cycling and the occasional pull during maintenance.
- No tools needed. The sock pulls down off the nozzle and the new one pushes straight back up — no Allen keys, no screws, no disassembly.
Who it's for
Anyone running a P1P or P1S — whether that's a hobbyist whose sock has finally torn, a small business that can't afford a print failing overnight, or a school or workshop keeping a shelf of consumables so a printer never sits idle waiting on a part. If you print abrasive or high-temperature materials, or you run long jobs back to back, keeping spare socks on hand is cheap insurance.
Fitting it
A two-minute job, but do it safely — Bambu Lab's procedure is:
- Let the nozzle cool to below 50°C, then power the printer off.
- Open the front housing assembly and hang it over the carbon rod, then move the toolhead forward where you can reach it.
- Pull the old sock downwards to remove it.
- Fit the new sock with the wire notch on the correct side, pushing it up to the top end of the nozzle.
- Check visually that it's seated snugly with no loose fitting, then close the front housing.
Getting the notch orientation right matters — it's what lets the sock sit flush against the block and clear the heater wiring.
What's in the box
- 3 × Silicone Sock for Hotend (Bambu Lab FAH001-S-3)
Not included: the hotend, nozzle and hotend cooling fan are all separate parts — this pack contains the silicone socks only. No tools are required to fit it.
Material compatibility
The sock is rated to 300°C, which spans the full working range of the P1P and P1S hotend — PLA, PETG, TPU, ABS, ASA, PC, PA and filled composites alike. There's no material you can print on a P1 Series that will exceed what this sock is rated for.
