About this product
Bambu Lab Silicone Sock for Hotend — P2S (3-Pack)
The silicone sock is the small consumable that quietly does a lot of work on your P2S. It wraps the hotend heater block, insulating it from the part-cooling fan's airflow so the nozzle holds its set temperature instead of dipping every time the fan ramps up. Just as importantly, it stops stray molten plastic from caking onto the heater and turning into the burnt black crust that eventually drops onto your print.
This is the genuine Bambu Lab part (FAH048), supplied as a pack of three — enough to see you through a long run of maintenance cycles. It's a wear item: once a sock is torn, burnt hard, loaded with baked-on plastic, or it won't stay seated, it's done its job and should be swapped.

What it does for your prints
- Holds temperature under airflow. The P2S runs aggressive part cooling. Without a sock, that air pulls heat straight off the heater block and the nozzle temperature oscillates — you see it as inconsistent extrusion, poor layer bonding and under-extrusion on fast perimeters.
- Keeps the heater block clean. Ooze and purge residue land on the sock, not on the metal. When it's time to clean up, you peel off the sock instead of scraping carbonised plastic off the block.
- Protects the assembly. It shields the heater and wiring from knocks and from plastic working its way into places it shouldn't.
- Precision cut-outs. The sock is shaped around the nozzle tip and the wiring harness so nothing is pinched and the nozzle tip sits clear.
Fitting it (two minutes, no tools)
Bambu's P2S maintenance guide keeps this simple:
- Let the hotend cool to 50 °C or below, then power the printer off and disconnect it before touching the toolhead.
- Open the Toolhead Front Cover Assembly (it's magnetically held) and hang it on the toolhead.
- Hold both sides of the old sock and pull it diagonally downward with a firm, even force.
- Fit the new sock onto the hotend from the bottom upwards until it's fully seated, then check it isn't loose.
- Close the magnetic front cover and you're done.
A note on compatibility: the P2S sock has its own geometry and Bambu Lab states it is not interchangeable with the A1 or H2D socks. H2-series socks can be wrestled onto a P2S hotend but they sit loose and the printer will warn you about improper sock fitting — worth knowing if you run a mixed fleet of Bambu machines.

Who it's for
Anyone running a Bambu Lab P2S — hobbyists keeping a single machine tidy, schools and makerspaces that want a consumable on the shelf before it's urgent, and small businesses running production hours where a degraded sock quietly costs you print quality. If you also run an X2D, the same part fits both.
