About this product
Bambu Lab Silicone Sock for Hotend — X1C (3-Pack)
The silicone sock is the small black cover that wraps your X1 Carbon's heater block — and it quietly does one of the most important jobs on the toolhead. It insulates the hotend from the part-cooling fan's airflow so the nozzle holds the temperature your slicer asked for, and it stops stray molten plastic welding itself to the block. Socks are a consumable: silicone ages, stretches and tears under months of high heat, and a cracked or loose sock means temperature swings, inconsistent extrusion and a messy hotend. This is the genuine Bambu Lab replacement part (FAH001-S-3), supplied as a three-pack so you have spares on the shelf before you need them.
Key features
Genuine Bambu Lab part 3 socks per pack Rated to 300 °C Tear-resistant silicone rubber No tools required 5-minute swap
- Stable nozzle temperatures. The sock blocks cold air from the part-cooling fan hitting the heater block, so the hotend isn't constantly fighting to hold setpoint mid-print.
- Cleaner hotend. Filament oozes and blobs don't bond to a silicone surface the way they bond to bare metal — a sock takes the mess so the block doesn't.
- Protects wiping and levelling. A loose or torn sock can foul the X1C's nozzle-wipe and bed-levelling routines; a correctly fitted one keeps those behaving.
- Built for the heat. High-quality silicone rubber rated for printing temperatures up to 300 °C, which is exactly the X1C hotend's maximum.
- Spares on hand. Three per pack — fit one now, keep two in the toolbox for the next nozzle change.
Who it's for
Any X1 Carbon owner, from first-printer hobbyists to schools and print farms. If your sock is cracked, discoloured, brittle, stretched or slipping off the block, it needs replacing — and if you swap nozzles or hotends regularly for different materials, a sock usually gets sacrificed each time. Classrooms and small production shops should keep a pack per machine; downtime from an unstable hotend costs far more than the spare.
Works with every filament your X1C does
The sock isn't material-specific — it protects the hotend across the X1C's full temperature range, so PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, PC, PA and CF/GF-filled engineering filaments are all covered, up to the 300 °C hotend limit. It is especially worth fitting a fresh one before long high-temperature ABS/ASA/PC jobs, where the chamber is hot and temperature stability matters most.
What's in the box
- 3 × Bambu Lab Silicone Sock for Hotend (OEM part FAH001-S-3)
That's it — no tools, screws, hotend or nozzle are included. The hotend, nozzle and hotend cooling fan are separate parts; this listing is the silicone sock only.
Fitting it (about five minutes)
- Let the nozzle cool below 50 °C, then power the printer off.
- Open the front housing assembly and hang it over the carbon rod.
- Move the toolhead forward, then pull the old sock downwards to remove it.
- Line up the wire notch on the new sock with the correct side and push it up over the nozzle to the top of the block.
- Close the housing and check visually that the sock is seated tight with no gaps.
Procedure per Bambu Lab's X1 wiki — no tools needed, it's a hand-fit part.
