$53.99inc. GST
The genuine Bambu Lab replacement extruder for the P1P and P1S — twin stainless steel drive gears that grip filament hard and keep extrusion consistent print after print. Twin stainless steel gears — more extrusion force, less slipping and grinding 9:53 reduction ratio, 1.75 mm filament — matched to the P1 feed system Supports filament-break detection so failed feeds stop the print, not the whole night P1 Series exclusive — fits Bambu Lab P1P and P1S (X1C uses the hardened steel unit) Genuine Bambu Lab part FAE016 (supersedes FAE001) — in the box: extruder unit ×1 🇦🇺 Ships from Australia

About this product
Bambu Lab Stainless Steel Extruder Unit — P1 Series
The extruder is the hardest-working part of your P1. It grips filament, pushes it into the hotend and does it thousands of times per print. After enough hours — especially on long production runs, or after a tangle or a jam — the drive gears wear, the grip softens, and you start seeing under-extrusion, gaps in top layers and that telltale clicking. This is the genuine Bambu Lab replacement unit, part FAE016 (supersedes FAE001), designed exclusively for the P1P and P1S.
Inside it are twin stainless steel drive gears, which bite the filament from both sides to increase extrusion force and prevent slipping, running through a 9:53 reduction ratio for fine, controlled feed. It also supports the P1's filament-break detection, so a snapped or run-out filament halts the job instead of air-printing for six hours. It's a straightforward service part: swap it in, and your printer feeds like it did on day one.

Why you'd replace the extruder unit
- Under-extrusion that tuning won't fix. Thin walls, patchy top surfaces and weak layer bonding after a nozzle swap and flow calibration usually point at worn drive gears, not slicer settings.
- Clicking or skipping during feed. Chewed filament and gear teeth that have lost their edge let the filament slip under load — most noticeable on fast infill and high-flow prints.
- Damage after a serious jam. Clearing a bad clog or a tangle can score the gears and the filament path. A fresh unit is a clean reset.
- Keeping a production machine running. If your P1 pays for itself — a small business, a makerspace or a school lab — a spare extruder unit on the shelf turns a week of downtime into a half-hour job.
What's in the box
- 1 × Stainless Steel Extruder Unit — P1 Series (FAE016)
Before you start: no screws are supplied — Bambu Lab's instruction is to keep all the screws from your original extruder unit and reuse them. The extruder motor, hotend and filament cutter are not included; those are separate service parts, so plan the swap around transferring them across. Follow the official Bambu Lab wiki guide for the P1 extruder replacement procedure.
Filament compatibility
Bambu Lab rates this unit for PLA, PETG, TPU and other common 1.75 mm filaments — the everyday range most P1 owners print. Stainless steel gears are the standard P1 specification and are built for grip, not for abrasion resistance. If you print a lot of carbon-fibre or glass-filled material, look at Bambu Lab's hardened steel extruder gear assembly for the X1/P1 generation, which is designed to survive abrasive filaments for longer.
