About this product
Bambu Lab TH Board FPC Cable — P1 Series
Inside the toolhead of every P1P and P1S there are two small circuit boards: the Extruder Connection Board at the front, and the TH (toolhead) board at the rear. The TH Board FPC Cable is the slim flexible ribbon that joins them, carrying both power and data between the two. It's a quiet little part until it isn't — and when it fails, the printer behaves as though the whole toolhead has gone faulty.
This is the genuine Bambu Lab replacement (OEM part number CAB009), the same cable Bambu's own toolhead board replacement procedure calls for. If you've had the toolhead apart for a hotend, extruder or board swap, it's a cheap part to have in the drawer — FPC ribbons don't love being creased, pinched under a cover, or repeatedly unseated from their connectors.
When you need one
- Toolhead communication errors — the printer reports a toolhead or board fault that persists after reseating connectors.
- Intermittent sensor behaviour — filament run-out detection, the nozzle temperature reading or the toolhead's other sensors dropping in and out, often changing as the toolhead moves.
- Visible damage — a crease, tear, delaminated trace, or heat discolouration on the ribbon after a hotend incident or a filament jam.
- Preventative spare — swapping a hotend, extruder or TH board is the exact moment this ribbon gets handled, so many owners keep one on the shelf before they start.

Fitting it
The ribbon is reached by removing the toolhead covers on the P1P/P1S — no soldering, and the only tool you'll normally need is the hex driver that came with your printer. Both ends sit in latching FPC connectors: release the latch, slide the old ribbon out, slide the new one in squarely until it's fully seated, then close the latch. Power the printer down at the wall before you start, keep the ribbon flat rather than folding it, and follow Bambu Lab's official toolhead PCB replacement guide for the exact disassembly order for your model.
